Comparison with analogues

Give a comparative description of cannons/machine guns that have firepower equal to this weapon.

Usage in battles

Describe the cannon/machine gun in the game - its distinctive features, tactics of usage against notable opponents. Please don't write a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought.

Pros and cons

Summarise and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.

History

The B-50 is a gun that was designed but never actually got off the drawing board, as was also the case for the ship meant to use the guns, the Kronshtadt. The gun was based on the B-36, another unfinished design for the Project 25 battleships that were originally intended to use 10-inch guns. The Kronshtadt class was intended primarily to counter the new wave of heavy and light cruisers built under the specifications of the Washington and London Naval Treaties along with Germany's "pocket battleships". The requirements were later revised to make a battlecruiser that could counter the French Dunkerque, Japanese Kongo-class battlecruisers, and the German Scharnhorst-class battleships. The design for the B-50 would have featured an extremely high muzzle velocity and equally long range at the cost of the liner life. Work on the design began in 1938, but the guns fell behind schedule and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in 1940 led to Stalin making a trade agreement for the 38 cm guns of the Bismarck-class battleships from Germany to arm the Kronshtadt. However, work on the program was terminated when Operation Barbarossa occurred in June 1941.

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
