Description
The 90 mm T15E2 is an American tank cannon. Like the preceding T15E1, the cannon is distinctive for its extremely long barrel length that helps the projectiles reach a very high muzzle velocity to penetrate thick armour. It is currently an exclusive armament to the T32 heavy tank series.
Its differences from the T15E1 was born from test experiences with the T15E1 inside the T26E1-1 model, where the extremely large size of the 90 mm shells made loading the gun within the turret interior difficult. The T15E2 modifies the process by having the 90 mm shells be in two-piece configuration between the projectile and propellent. This consequently causes the cannon to have a longer reload time.

Comparison with analogues
- KwK43 (88 mm): The two share similar penetration values for their projectiles, though the T15E2's reload time is considerably longer.
- D-25T (122 mm): Both using two-piece ammunition for their usage, the T15E2 proves better in reload time and penetration values, but the D-25T has a much higher explosive mass within the armour-piercing shells.
Usage in battles
Describe the cannon/machine gun in the game - its distinctive features, tactics of usage against the main opponents. Please don't write a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought.
Pros and cons
Summarize and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.
Pros:
- Decent ballistic arc and great post pen damage once T41 round is researched.
Cons:
- Long reload allows enemies who survive your 1st shot to take out your barrel or maneuver around you.
- Large barrel is an easy target.
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of this weapon. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to an article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article.
Media
An excellent addition to the article would be a video guide, as well as screenshots from the game and photos.
