With the rapid development of jet aircraft in the 1950s, interest in slow aircraft decreased worldwide. The focus was now on high-speed fighter-bombers. However, the Vietnam War quickly showed that Phantoms and MiGs were incapable of effectively detecting and engaging targets on the battlefield. Therefore, history turned back to the hero of slow, armored and powerful aircraft. Just a few years apart, two legends took to the skies. The US-made A-10 Thunderbolt and the Su-25 Grach from the USSR.
