In 1991, the Hellenic Army inquired with the recently unified Germany about purchasing most of the military equipment of the former East Germany. As the Bundeswehr found no use for Eastern Bloc vehicles, the deal was signed that year, resulting in large batches of vehicles being delivered from 1992 to 1994. Among these were the 9K331 "Tor-M1" SPAA systems. As of 2024, 21 Tor-M1s remain in service with the Hellenic Army, with another four being operated by the Hellenic Air Force.
The Greek Tor-M1 was introduced in Update 2.59 "Sky Odyssey" as part of the Israeli tech tree and is identical to its Soviet counterpart. A key advantage of this surface-to-air system is its ability to fire at two targets simultaneously. However, the Tor's armament consists only of vertically launched missiles, preventing it from engaging ground vehicles or aircraft at close range.
