With the dawn of the jet age, Greece ordered 120 refurbished F-86E(M) Sabres. These were CL-13 Mk.4s retrofitted by North American. The Mk.4 version was derived from the Mk.2 variant and had only minor differences. The first F-86E(M) arrived in Greece in 1954 being previously used by the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1964, the aircraft's upper surfaces were painted in NATO-standard camouflage. The Sabres were replaced by F-5As in 1965.
The Greek F-86E(M) was introduced in Update 2.59 "Sky Odyssey", as part of the Israeli aviation research tree. The Greek Sabre has virtually identical flight characteristics to the Italian CL-13 Mk.4. It has a weak engine, low top speed, and ineffective machine gun armament against other jet aircraft. However, the F-86E(M) maneuvers well at low and high speeds, and it still accelerates reasonably well in a straight line.
