After the CA-27 Sabre was taken out of service with the Royal Australian Air Force, 18 fighters were sent to Malaysia starting in 1969. Delivery of the aircraft was completed in 1972, and they all served with the 11th Squadron of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. In 1976, five of the aircraft were transferred to the Indonesian Air Force. The remaining CA-27s were decommissioned and replaced by the Northrop F-5 by 1978.
The Malaysian CA-27 Mk.32 was introduced in Update 2.59 "Sky Odyssey" as a part of the Japanese aviation research tree. It is the heaviest Sabre, exceeding even the F-86F-40 or CL-13 Mk.6 in weight. Conversely, it has the most powerful engine, giving it a similar power-to-weight ratio. However, due to its weight, it accelerates slower, and due to the lack of slats, it is at a noticeable disadvantage in dogfights. Consequently, it has difficulty maneuvering against many other types of fighters. However, setting aside comparisons with its counterparts, the CA-27 possesses powerful cannon and missile armaments. In a prolonged dogfight, it can still defeat the enemy thanks to its good energy retention.
