The Project 1331M corvettes are an upgraded version of the Project 1331 class, which was based on the Project 1124 Albatros anti-submarine corvettes. Designed and built in the GDR in the mid-1980s, the Project 1331M ships were specifically built for the Soviet Navy. They differ from their predecessors primarily in their armament and hydroacoustic and radio equipment. A total of 12 ships of this project were built and transferred to the Russian Navy after the collapse of the USSR.
The MPK Pr.1331M was introduced in Update 2.21 "Fire and Ice". This anti-submarine ship is distinguished by its RBU-6000 bomb launchers in the bow and torpedoes, making it effective in close combat. However, the ship's armament does not allow it to fight effectively at long range.
