Yenot is a Project 50 Gornostay escort ship (NATO reporting name: Riga-class frigate). This class of frigates was designed as a medium-sized patrol vessel capable of performing various tasks, such as minesweeping or even acting as a destroyer. These vessels were exported to various nations, including Bulgaria, Finland, East Germany, and Indonesia, which received the most units. Additionally, a licensed version of the vessel was built by the PLAN (People's Liberation Army Navy).
Yenot was laid down on 17 October 1953, launched on 9 April 1954, and commissioned into service with the Soviet Navy on 30 October 1954. From 4 January 1956, Yenot served in the Baltic Fleet as a border patrol vessel. On 19 October 1959, she was decommissioned from the Soviet Navy and sold to the East German Navy, where she was renamed Friedrich Engels. She remained in service with the East German Navy until 1971, after which she was decommissioned and later scrapped.
Introduced in Update "Raining Fire", Yenot's gameplay is similar to that of a destroyer due to her large crew, decent armament, and decent mobility. However, it is advised to focus on supporting allied boats rather than engaging enemy destroyers, as she is only protected by 4 mm to 16 mm of steel across her hull, and her three 100 mm dual-purpose guns can only be loaded with HE ammunitions. She is additionally equipped with two twin 37 mm autocannons effective against nearby enemy boats and aircraft, and can also carry torpedoes, mortars, and depth charges for added firepower.
