History
The Akan m/47B is the Swedish designation for the British Hispano Mk.V which was itself a modified licensed variant of the French Hispano 404. The Mk.V came to Sweden on the de Havilland Vampire fighter jets, one of the earliest series of successful jets in the post-war period. In 1946, not long after the RAF adopted it, Sweden purchased 50 Vampire Mk.1s as a stopgap while the J29 program was being completed. In 1949, when an official export variant of the Vampire FB 5 entered the market, Sweden began order more of these jets. In Sweden the FB 5 variant of the Vampire was designated the J28 or A28 based on the armament configurations of the aircraft. However, regardless of the configuration, both version used the same Hispano Mk.V cannon that was developed in World War II, which were designated the Akan m/47B by the Swedes.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
