There is a method to play multiplayer missions using WTLive. It’s well-suited for sharing your mission with many players. But for many mission creators, having to upload to WTLive every time during debugging is not the best way.
Therefore, this page explains more efficient ways, using shared drive. (These are intended for Windows environments, but I expect it will work fine on macOS as well.)
Play multiplayer user missions using Google Drive
Multiplayer user missions can be played using a shared drive.
You can choose from various shared drive services, but this time I will explain an example with using Google Drive.
- First, install Google Drive for desktop.
- Open File Explorer, create a new folder in any directory, and name it. Move the mission file into the folder.
- Open Google Drive for desktop, go to Settings, select Add folder, and sync the folder you created in step 2 with Google Drive.
- Open File Explorer, right-click the mission file, check Other options, and select Share on Google Drive. Set access to Anyone with the link, then copy the link.
- Create a direct download link to the file. You can use any service, but this time using Google Drive Direct Link Generator as an example. Access the Google Drive Direct Link Generator, paste the link into the “Enter your sharing URL” field, and click “Create Direct Link” to generate a direct download link to the file.
- Create a shortened link to the direct download link (as overly long URLs cannot be loaded in the game). You can use any URL shortening tool, but for this example will use X.gd, a Japanese URL shortening service. Access X.gd and create the shortened link.
- Launch the game, select “Missions by URL” from Custom Battle, and select “Add mission”.
- Assign an appropriate mission name and paste the shortened link into the “Mission URL” field.
- Press “Create” to save the mission. Press “Start” to begin the mission.
