Premium Vehicles | T-72AV (TURMS-T)

Even if you are not familiar with the name, this is still certainly a vehicle most of you will recognize. Taking center stage in many military conflicts, movies and games, T-72 Ural, one of the most widely produced MBTs with many variants being produced far from their homeland. A large number of examples were actively exported to various countries with many assembling their own version of the T-72 under license. Being a very versatile tank platform, it was hardly surprising that the T-72 received many upgrades and modifications, including many foreign examples, with one of the most notable being Syrian. In the early 2000s, in order to maintain the equipment of their army, they began to modernize their existing T-72 tanks and with the cooperation of the Italian company Officine Galileo, numerous T-72 models were upgraded with a TURMS-T fire control system, previously installed on the Italian C1 Ariete tanks. This upgrade dramatically increased the tank's ability to perform combat missions in low-visibility conditions thanks to the improved optics and modernized electronics.
