Premium Vehicles | Wyvern S. Mk.4

In 1943, the Royal Navy Command in England found themselves facing the need to upgrade their carrier-based aircraft to for new torpedoes. The development of a new torpedo carrier fighter was assigned to Westland, a known manufacturing of the multi-purpose Lysander and the Whirlwind. Although the company did not manufacture carrier-based aircraft, it did have a few internal preliminary designs for such a vehicle. These designs were used as the basis for the future aircraft. In as early as the following year, a new prototype of the multi-purpose carrier-based high-speed aircraft was presented, the Westland Wyvern.
