▄Rafale EG
The Rafale EG is a variant of the French Rafale C fighter jet that was developed for the Hellenic Air Force. In January 2021, Greece signed a contract with Dassault Aviation for 18 Rafale fighters: six newly built aircraft and 12 that were previously operated by the French Air and Space Force. The aircraft were intended to replace the aging Mirage 2000EG/BG. In September of that year, Greece ordered an additional six Rafales, bringing the total order to 24. The first six Rafales arrived at Tanagra Air Base in January 2022, and the aircraft officially entered service in September 2023. The last of the 24 Rafales ordered by Greece was delivered on January 9, 2025.
The Greek Rafale EG was introduced in Update 2.59 "Sky Odyssey", as part of the Israeli aviation research tree. The Rafale combines high maneuverability with a wide selection of guided weapons. Its delta wing and canards provide good control at high angles of attack, and its two powerful engines allow it to quickly regain speed after maneuvers. For air combat, the Rafale carries ARH MICA-EM missiles. Against ground targets, the Rafale can use AASM HAMMER guided bombs with inertial, satellite, laser, and infrared guidance systems. However, it has a limited load of Matra R550 Magic 2 missiles and a relatively small amount of countermeasures.
