The Meteor F Mk 4 was an upgraded version of the British Meteor F Mk 3 jet fighter. The aircraft was equipped with more powerful Rolls-Royce Derwent 5 engines, increased fuel capacity, and a strengthened airframe. It made its maiden flight on August 15, 1945, and serial production continued until March 1949. A total of 535 aircraft were built and entered service with the Royal Air Force and several foreign operators.
The G.41G variant had a shorter wing than the earlier G.41F configuration. This modification improved maneuverability and handling at low and medium altitudes but reduced performance at higher altitudes. The G.41G became the most widely used Meteor F Mk 4 variant and saw extensive service with frontline RAF units.
The Meteor F Mk 4 G.41G was introduced in Update 1.29. The aircraft combines effective offensive armament with balanced flight characteristics, making it a formidable opponent in aerial combat. However, its limited suspended armament forces it to be a fighter and prevents it from providing support to ground forces.
