The Meteor F Mk 4 was an upgraded version of the British Meteor F.3 jet fighter. It received more powerful Rolls-Royce Derwent 5 engines, increased fuel capacity, and a strengthened airframe. It made its maiden flight on August 15, 1945, and serial production continued until March 1949. A total of 535 aircraft were built and entered service with the Royal Air Force and several other countries.
The early G.41F variant had a longer wing than the later G.41G. This configuration provided better high-altitude performance and a higher climb rate, though it was less maneuverable at low and medium altitudes than the shortened wing.
The Meteor F Mk 4 G.41F was introduced in Update 1.29. The aircraft has good offensive armaments and decent flight performance, making it a dangerous opponent in aerial combat. However, its inability to carry suspended armament limits its role exclusively to fighter and prevents it from providing support to ground forces.
