The Beriev Be-2 (originally KOR-1) was a reconnaissance hydroplane built for the Soviet Navy shortly before World War II as a replacement for the obsolete Heinkel He 55 biplane previously in use. The KOR-1 was an open cockpit, two-seater design with a large central float and two floats under its wings for stability. It was powered by a Shvetsov M-25 radial engine. The plane was plagued with reliability issues and handling difficulties throughout its service; only 12 were produced. They were never deployed on a ship and served instead from land bases. They were withdrawn from service in 1942.
Introduced in Update “Winged Lions”, the KOR-1 is a Soviet reconnaissance hydroplane used on Kirov-class cruisers. Armed with two 7.62 mm ShKAS machine guns in the nose and one defensive ShKAS, the KOR-1 can be compared to an I-153 in terms of armament and manoeuvrability. The plane is also armed with two 100 kg FAB-100sv bombs that can be used against coastal vessels.
