The ZSU-23-4 Shilka is a Soviet self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. About 6,500 of these vehicles were built in various versions during serial production from 1964 to 1982. One of the first modifications to these vehicles was the ZSU-23-4V, which improved crew working conditions and increased reliability. In addition to serving in the Soviet army, Shilkas were actively exported. For example, in 1969, approximately 50 ZSU-23-4s were transferred to Hungary, a member of the Warsaw Pact at the time. The Hungarian Army decommissioned all of these vehicles in the 1990s.
The Hungarian ZSU-23-4V was introduced in Update 2.29 Sons of Attila, and is located in the Italian ground research tree. In skilled hands, this ZSU is a formidable opponent for enemy aircraft at short and medium ranges. Its high rate of fire and good accuracy enable it to effectively shoot down aircraft, helicopters, ATGMs, and UAVs. However, it's important to note that this ZSU is ineffective against enemy tanks and has weak armor.
