Survivability and armour
- 40 mm Bulletproof glass in front of pilot.
Armaments
Offensive armament
The M.D.452 IIA is armed with:
- 4 x 20 mm M50 cannons, chin-mounted (125 rpg = 500 total)
The four machine guns are clustered on the underside of the fuselage, directly below the pilot. Each are armed with the same amount of ammunition, which means that all guns will fire with together until empty.
Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in an aircraft, the features of using vehicles in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros and cons
Pros:
- Good turn rate between 550 km/h and 800 km/h
- Decent climb rate
- Strong and effective flaps
- Nose-mounted 20mm guns
- Good ammo choices (besides "Default" one)
- Quite nice when downtiered in battles
- Guns equipped with belts other than the stock option can quickly down or critically damage the opponent
- With all modifications, can deal with MiG 15 and Sabres, but these interceptors are still superior
- Easy to fly and land with a ripped wingtip or even whole wing
Cons:
- "Default" ammunition belt is underperforming for the rank
- Stock performance is lacking
- Slow compared to other contemporary aircraft
- Poor horizontal energy retention compared to its predecessors
- Fragile; a few hits of enemy fire will make controlling the aircraft more difficult
- 500 bullets so some practise in needed
- Nearly no armour, pilot knockouts are really common
- 20mm guns can spark but often it is not big problem and sometimes even advantage
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
