The M.D.452 Mystère IIC was the first production variant of the M.D.452 Mystère II. Equipped with a new engine, the aircraft was able to break the sound barrier under certain flight conditions. After successful testing, the French Air Force ordered 14 pre-production aircraft in 1951. By 1954, the order had increased to 150 fighters. The last aircraft entered service in 1957 as a combat trainer. However, since fighter aircraft were advancing rapidly at that time, the more advanced M.D. 454 Mystère IVA had almost been adopted by the time the M.D. 452 Mystère IIC began entering service. The Mystère IIIS remained in service as a trainer until 1963. Only one of the fighters remains today, with the tail number 013. It is on display at a museum in Savigny-le-Temple.
The M.D.452 IIC was introduced in Update 1.73 "Vive la France." Its performance characteristics are virtually identical to those of [its predecessor. Due to its relatively underpowered engine, the aircraft struggles to maintain energy, forcing players to rely on speed. It's important to conserve speed and energy and attack with a hit-and-run strategy. However, if a dogfight becomes unavoidable, it’s best to initiate the maneuver first. A good roll rate can help the pilot to shake off an opponent’s tail with sharp maneuvers.
