The Bf 109 G-10 was a German fighter aircraft used during the Second World War. This variant was a compromise between the Gustav production series and the Kurfürst, which was still under development at the time. Essentially, it was an adaptation of the older Bf 109 G-14 airframe to accommodate the new DB 605D engine. This approach, common among fighters of the period, was primarily intended to enhance flight performance while maintaining existing production rates. Other differences between the G-10 and G-14 included a redesigned engine cowling and a larger oil cooler. Thanks to its new engine, the Bf 109 G-10 became the fastest Gustav-series fighter. The first aircraft were delivered to combat units in October–November 1944, shortly after the introduction of the Bf 109 K-4. Although initial plans called for the production of 6,000 aircraft, only around 2,600 Bf 109 G-10s were ultimately built.
The Bf 109 G-10 has been in the game since the beginning of the Open Beta Test prior to Update 1.27. In practice, it differs little from the Bf 109 G-14, offering slightly improved acceleration and top speed alongside a strong climb rate, responsive handling and powerful armament. However, its increased weight negatively affects manoeuvrability, meaning that pilots must be more cautious and deliberate when planning and executing attacks.
