: I'd tend to agree, but I think having N/A there will discourage people from adding the correct AoA weight since they'll just assume that it doesn't have AoA. A solution for mass might be to deduct the inputted AoA weight from <nowiki>{{Specs|mass}}</nowiki> (and just leave it if AoA is N/A or __). I believe weight without AoA is used for the current hp/ton values. -[[User:U38088265|U38088265]] ([[User talk:U38088265|talk]]) 21:08, 7 February 2020 (UTC) | : I'd tend to agree, but I think having N/A there will discourage people from adding the correct AoA weight since they'll just assume that it doesn't have AoA. AoA weight
I personally believe that something that is going to be N/A ~95% of the time should just default to it. Also the mass from Specs does include AoA weight so it'll need to be overwritten though then you have to choose which weight you want to use to calculate the hp/ton.--blastedryan (talk) 20:50, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'd tend to agree, but I think having N/A there will discourage people from adding the correct AoA weight since they'll just assume that it doesn't have AoA. A solution for mass might be to deduct the inputted AoA weight from {{Specs|mass}} (and just leave it if AoA is N/A or __). I believe weight without AoA is used for the current hp/ton values. -DnaGonite (talk) 21:08, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- My solution for people assuming AoA didn't exist was to have the parameter in comments like this: {{tankmobility|<!--aoaweight-->}} whenever it is used. Removal of AoA Weight if none is specified
I think this template is amazing. Great idea to integrate the sidebar data and the parser function extension math to make this. However, add on armor is more the exception rather than the norm. Im proposing that when add on armor value is not passed to the template (empty parameter), the template should remove the AoA section and expand the max speed and weight sections to maintain a consistent table width instead of the current ___ empty statement.
I have not yet tested the following edits but the concept should be solid:
! colspan="3" | Mobility characteristics ! colspan="{{#if:{{{AoAweight|}}}|3|2}}" | Mobility characteristics ... ! {{Annotation|AoA Weight|Add-on Armour Weight (tons)}} {{#if:{{{AoAweight|}}}|<th> {{Annotation|AoA Weight|Add-on Armour Weight (tons)}}}} ... | rowspan="2" | {{{AoAweight|__}}} {{#if:{{{AoAweight|}}}|<td> rowspan="2" <td> {{{AoAweight|}}}}}
Any thoughts? --KornFlaks (talk) 19:41, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
- I am of the opinion that the AoA weight should remain even as "N/A" as this will be an easy indicator to users that the vehicles has an add-on armour package or not. --Inceptor57 (talk) 16:45, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
