History

The Mark 7 nuclear bomb, developed during the mid-1950s in the midst of the Cold War, was the first tactical nuclear bomb adopted by USA armed forces. Intended to be delivered by fighter-bombers using toss bombing method, it weighed just 1,600 lb (730 kg), was streamlined and had retractable stabilizer. Different fissile material assemblies (called "pits") allowed variable yields of 8, 19, 22, 30, 31, and 61 kilotons. The W7 warhead was also used on rockets, depth charges, and MGM-5 Corporal ballistic missile.

Under the USA-UK agreement, Mark 7 bombs were deployed on British Canberra jet bombers stationed in West Germany.

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
