The War Thunder CDK has been updated today, with improvements to daEditor, Asset Viewer, and the WT Mission Editor. The War Thunder CDK is a set of tools for user content creation available to every player.

Interface (all tools)
- Theme Support: light and dark themes, switchable from the toolbar.
- Customizable Hotkeys: right-click on any menu item or toolbar button to change, add or remove shortcuts.
- Dockable UI: modeless dockable dialogs with full layout persistence between sessions; windows can be moved to a second monitor
- Reworked Console: dockable, autocomplete (
Ctrl+Space), per-character selection, command history, colour-coded output, and help for every command - Reworked Controls: gizmos with two render modes, customizable size, line thickness, and axis colors.
- Asset Management: asset tagging (
Ctrl+T) and Asset Browser with texture thumbnails (Ctrl+B). - UI Scaling: toolbar scaling up to 200% with automatic row wrapping.
daEditor
- HeightBake Splines: new functionality for shorelines and terraces; per-point spline width for rivers.
- Primitives Creation: regular shape creation for splines and polygons (
Alt+Click+ mouse wheel for vertex count). - Landclass Expression Language: Scripting support using variables, conditionals, and access to peer layers' masks. Artist-editable typed parameters (Float, Range, Mask, Curve).
- Expanded Edit Layers: increased limit to 124 layers (up from 60); added landclass weight color overlays and custom paint detail palettes per location.
- Outliner Performance: handles tens of thousands of objects smoothly.
- Reworked Screenshot Panel: Introduced support of TIFF, PNG, and DDSX formats with regular and cube-map tabs. Fixed clipping issues for orthographic screenshots.
Asset Viewer
- Suboptimal Asset Finder: search any folder for rendInsts with a single LOD and high draw distance.
- Reference Tracking: clickable asset references and back-references window.
- Material Editor driven by dagorShaders.blk: tooltips with description/default/range, out-of-range highlighting, inline color picker, collapsible groups, undoable removal.
- Composite Editor: massively faster outline rendering for complex assets. New nodes now receive an identity transform by default.
- Visual Hierarchy: added a hierarchical skeleton tree.
- Non-blocking Asset Build: viewer stays usable during builds, with adjustable parallel-job count.
- Live Hot Reload: changes made within included
.blkfiles are now automatically detected and applied.
WT Mission Editor
- Parallel Loading: class info
.blkfiles now load in parallel, reducing startup time from ~13.5s to ~3.7s. - Improved Selection Dialogs: new resizable windows with keyboard navigation support.
- Polygon Mission Zones: new zone type allowing to define areas by clicking on the map and dragging points.
- UI Improving: group expansion states are now remembered between sessions.
Notable Fixes
- Frame-rate-independent camera rotation.
- Fixed flying rendInsts, hidden-layer entities reappearing, inverted matrices, and missing polygons in exported binaries.
- Fixed broken physmap generation, incorrect spline export format, and HQ texture properties corruption.
- Wireframe and geometry debugging now render correctly in screenshots, including transparent backgrounds.
- Fixed transition LODs and tessellation + impostor LOD interaction.
