General information
HMS Blackpool (F77) is a British Whitby-class frigate. Laid down at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast on December 20, 1954, she was launched on October 4, 1955, and commissioned on August 22, 1957. The Royal Navy used this frigate for anti-submarine defense until 1966. After that, she was leased to the New Zealand Navy. Blackpool returned to the Royal Navy in 1971 and was placed in reserve. She was later decommissioned and scrapped in 1980.
HMS Blackpool was introduced in Update 2.5 "Ixwa Strike". The frigate has decent survivability and speed, as well as a large number of torpedoes; however, her artillery armament is rather weak.
