The HMS Peacock, pennant number P239, is the lead ship of the Peacock-class corvettes. These 5 corvettes were specially commissioned during the 1980s for service in Hong Kong's 6th Patrol Craft Squadron, protecting the colony and performing numerous security-peace operations. After the return of Hong Kong to China, Peacock as well as sisters Clover and Starling were sold to the Philippine Navy, redesignated the Emilio Jacinto class, and upgunned and upgraded, where they remain in service today.
Introduced in Update "Raining Fire", Peacock delivers a brand-new and unique punch of naval power for the veteran British captains of the coastal fleet. The ship's playstyle is dependant on her sole bow gun: a 76 mm OTO-Melara Compact cannon. Despite seeming like not enough firepower, she can be used to great effect in providing air defence and medium-range support against lighter crafts, defence of captured points, and can even combat destroyers by targeting their weakspots. However, her mobility and size leave a lot to be desired as she will feel sluggish around the extremely manoeuvrable fast patrol boats and attack crafts of her rank. But slow and steady, the ship will arrive at the combat-zone, where her full potential will be unleashed.
