Des Moines-class cruiser
Description
The Des Moines-class cruisers were a trio of heavy cruisers built for the US Navy between 1948 - 1949. They were the last of the all-gun type cruiser with their size only being exceeded by the USS Alaska class large cruiser, making the Des Moines class an intermediate between a Heavy cruiser and Battlecruiser.
