Not only do aircraft have variable thrust vectoring, but so do their missiles! One of these is the SRAAM, which can be found in game on the Hunter F.6 and Harrier GR.1.
It was developed by the designers of the British Hawker Siddeley following the results of the use of early air-to-air missiles in Vietnam: they had poor performance at close range due to poor manoeuvrability and a narrow field of view. When Hawker's designers began work on their replacement project, they set out to create a missile that worked the way the pilots wanted it to, rather than forcing the pilots to work the way the missile wanted them to.
And they succeeded! Their new missile was characterised by its ease of operation due to its wide field of view and its high performance due to its variable thrust vector. And later, the SRAAM development programme evolved into the ASRAAMs that are still in service today.
To try them out in-game, use the SRAAM as a suspended weapon, and in combat use the "Weapon Lock (air-to-air)" and "Fire air-to-air missile" buttons to shoot down the enemy!
