The T32E1 was an experimental American heavy tank from the early Cold War era. During testing, insufficient protection of the cast upper front hull was identified, requiring significant reinforcement. The third and fourth prototypes were redesigned with a new frontal layout that used two rolled armor plates instead of a single cast piece. The hull machine gun was also removed. This modification was designated the T32E1. The first prototype was completed on May 14, 1946, and the second on June 19. However, the tank did not arrive in time for the end of the war and did not enter mass production, making way for more refined designs. Nevertheless, many engineering solutions tested on the T32 were later used in future developments. For example, the "cross-drive" EX-120/CD-850 transmission, which would later become widely used in the M60 tank family.
The T32E1 was introduced in Update 1.83 "Masters of the Sea". In terms of playstyle, the T32E1 closely mirrors its earlier version, the T32. Thanks to its strong armor and capable main gun, it is well-suited for assaulting or defending key positions alongside allies. However, it should be noted that the T32E1 has mediocre mobility and that the power of its main gun is offset by a long reload time. Without allied support, the tank can easily become a target for the enemy.
