General information
The USS Asheville (PGM-84) was an American gunboat. Laid down on April 15, 1964, it was launched on May 1, 1965, and commissioned on August 6, 1966. It took part in the Vietnam War as a patrol ship. After hostilities in Vietnam ended, the Asheville received 14 battle stars and was sent to Chicago, arriving on October 28, 1974. The boat served as a training ship in the Great Lakes until January 31, 1977, after which it was decommissioned and transferred to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on December 11, 1977. The Asheville was scrapped in 1985.
The USS Asheville was introduced in Update 1.77 "Advancing Storm". It has good speed and versatile armament but, despite its large size, it has low survivability.
