The Su-2 (or BB-1) is a Soviet light bomber that served with the Red Army Air Force during World War II. Originally designed as a bomber, its primary frontline duties shifted to artillery spotting and dropping propaganda leaflets over enemy-occupied cities from 1942 onward. Production lasted from December 1940 to February 1942, during which time a total of 893 aircraft were built. Continuous repairs and restoration of damaged airframes allowed the Su-2 to remain in combat service until January 1944.

In May 1941, Soviet aircraft designers were ordered to install the new M-82 engine on several aircraft types, including the Su-2. Flight trials of the production version equipped with the new engine took place in February 1942. In July 1941, the aircraft's offensive armament was restored to four ShKAS machine guns to improve its combat effectiveness. The MV-2 dorsal turret, previously fitted only to the prototype, was also reintroduced. Production of the M-82-powered Su-2 was short-lived; only 58 were built between December 1941 and February 1942.

The Su-2 (M-82) has been in the game since the beginning of the Open Beta Test prior to Update 1.27. It is well suited for attacking ground targets with bombs and rockets. However, despite having a more powerful M-82 engine than earlier M-88-powered Su-2 variants, it remains difficult to engage enemy fighters due to their superior flight performance.
