The Bell P-39Q-25 Airacobra was an American single-engine fighter aircraft from the World War II era. The Q variant was the final and most widely produced version of the Airacobra. It incorporated all previous design and technical improvements aimed at enhancing the airframe’s strength and reliability. Additionally, the four rifle-caliber wing-mounted machine guns on the Q-series Airacobras were replaced with two large-caliber ones. The Q-25 differed from previous models due to the installation of a four-bladed propeller. From 1943 until production ceased in August 1944, a total of 4,905 P-39Qs were built, some of which were transferred to the Free French Air Force. They were used for aerial patrols in Africa and later carried out attacks on enemy positions and convoys in Italy and southern France. Shortly after the war, the P-39s were decommissioned.
The French P-39Q-25 was introduced as one of the rewards for Battle Pass: Season III, "Strength athletics". The Airacobra is a responsive fighter, though average in all other respects. Its strengths include good speed, responsiveness, and a decent climb rate. The aircraft is highly maneuverable but loses a lot of energy during turns. Cons include severe overheating and loss of engine performance with altitude. Additionally, its 37 mm cannon has poor ballistics, a low rate of fire, and a small ammunition load.
