The Mi-35P is a new modification of the Mi-24P helicopter. Unlike the Mi-35M, the Mi-35P retains the "signature features" of the classic Mi-24P, including long wings, retractable landing gear, and a new weapons suite featuring 9M120-1 Ataka and 9K127 Vikhr missiles. It also inherits several elements from the Mi-35M, including a movable 23mm GSh-23L gun turret that replaces the previous fixed 30mm cannon. The Mi-35P was first unveiled at the Army-2018 exhibition. After completing trials in 2020, it entered service with the Russian Armed Forces. That same year, production of export helicopters began as well. Currently, a small number of Mi-35Ps are in service with the Russian military.
The Mi-35P was introduced in Update 2.49 "Tusk Force". Compared to its predecessor, the Mi-35M, the Mi-35P features upgraded avionics, including a new radar warning receiver and countermeasures suite. It also has the ability to carry up to 16 Ataka or Vikhr missiles. However, it has two drawbacks: it cannot carry large numbers of ATGMs and air-to-air missiles simultaneously. Its large size also makes it much easier to hit with anti-aircraft guns and fighter aircraft.
