The CTWV RCV is a Mitsubishi-developed reconnaissance variant of the CTWV, based on the Type 16 MCV platform. It features a 30 mm Bushmaster, a Mk 52 chain gun, a surveillance camera, and a satellite communication antenna. Tested in 2023–2024, it is set to be designated the Type 25 RCV and procured starting in FY 2025 to modernise the JGSDF's reconnaissance capabilities.
The Type 25 RCV (P) was introduced in Update "Dance of Dragons" and provides similar offensive reconnaissance capabilities to other vehicles equipped with the 30 mm Bushmaster, such as the VBCI-2. A unique feature of the Type 25 RCV (P) is its extendable commander antenna, which can rise by ~2 metres, allowing the vehicle to spot targets or even override the gun while staying covered and protected.
