The T31 was one of fifteen German Type 1939 destroyers built during World War II. All of these destroyers took an active part in combat operations, providing escort and operating independently in secondary theaters of war. The T31 was laid down in 1942, launched in 1943, and entered service on February 5, 1944.
After entering service, the T31 was sent to support Finnish troops in the Gulf of Vyborg during the Vyborg-Petrozavodsk Operation. On June 20, 1944, the T31 and its sister ship, the T30, encountered Soviet boats. After sinking three to five enemy boats, according to various sources, the T31 was hit by a torpedo and sank with 82 crew members on board.
The T31 was introduced in Update 1.91 "Night Vision". The ship is distinguished by its effective armament and powerful anti-aircraft battery. However, its survivability is poor.
