Formerly German Z31 destroyer of the Type 1936A, provided to France as a part of war reparations, Marceau had a short history in the French navy. After 2 years of service under the tricolour ensign, she underwent a major refit, where she was up-gunned to 150 mm main guns, 40 mm Bofors, and equipped with an American radar. She was based in Toulon, and participated in multiple Cold War-era exercises of the French Navy without any major incidents. In 1953, she was retired and sold for scrap in 1958.
Introduced in Update "La Royale", Marceau is similar to her sister-ship Z32, featuring excellent firepower against both surface targets and aircraft alike. Her SAP rounds are able to counter cruisers, while a unique setup of anti-air armament makes her able to effectively deal with enemy aircraft at medium and short range - a significant upgrade over the Z32. Her major weakness is the rear ammo rack, making her prone to explosions.
