Msg-info.png This article only covers the rules of distribution and use of combat vehicles in World War battles. You can learn more about the World War mode in the main article.
A confrontation between two armies in World War mode initiates a battle where the participants may only use the combat units in their respective armies. Each army’s units are placed in the pool  and distributed between the combatants.

Unit Use

At the start of a battle, each combatant receives 1-3 combat units, which are randomly selected from the pool. The number of units received is determined by the total number and variety of combat units in the army, while the chance of receiving a particular vehicle solely depends on how many of these units there are in the pool.

If one of the issued combat units is destroyed during the battle, it gets replaced by another random vehicle from the pool on condition that the army still has spare combat units left.

Player-Owned Vehicles

If players have their own combat units that they wish to deploy in battle, they can do so while being able to keep the current vehicle and crew levels by placing the said vehicles in the vehicle slots in the lobby menu.

Msg-important.png In any event, you are still using army vehicles without affecting the total number of units, but at the same time you also have access to upgraded vehicles instead of the stock ones.
You can automatically place all your vehicles eligible for battle in the vehicle slots by pressing “Generate vehicle preset.” In this case, the game algorithm will sort your vehicles required for battle into the corresponding vehicle slots.

Over the course of a battle, players earn Spawn Points, which allow them to use the units placed in their vehicle slots even if they didn’t receive the said vehicles during the distribution stage.

Msg-ok.png Spawn Points earned in World War missions are not reset between battles and are not tied to a particular country or scenario.

Army Vehicles

In the case if players have not placed any combat units in the vehicle slots for the upcoming battle or if they simply do not have the vehicles eligible for use, they will still be able to use any issued vehicles, which, however, will have the basic loadouts and will carry untrained crew.

Air Unit Loadouts

The rules of using air units in combat are practically identical to those regarding the use of ground vehicles. The only difference lies in the use of suspended armaments and fuel, which are set by the commander during the air force assembly stage.

Thus, players are allowed to use their own aircraft with their current respective upgrades and crew levels, but the air units’ suspended armaments will be predetermined. If you happen to use up all your rockets, torpedoes, missiles, and/or bombs in the previous battle, you will only have access to your aircraft’s gun armament – or the basic armament if you are piloting your army’s aircraft.

You can check the availability of the suspended armament chosen by the commander right before selecting the aircraft at the start of the battle:

Air Reinforcements

The commander can call in for air reinforcements if there are no allied air units in battle.

The distribution of the newly arrived air units follows the standard rule of replacing the next aircraft lost.

Identification Markers

The in-battle vehicle selection menu allows players to easily determine which combat unit they’ll receive if they choose to deploy it in battle.

Here is the layout of the selection menu for vehicles that have already been distributed from the pool
World War - icon of the vehicle which was setup in player's slot.jpg
A number inside the brackets with no icon represents the number of available deployments for a player-owned vehicle.
World War - icon of the vehicle which wasn't setup in player's slot.jpg
A number inside the brackets with a planet icon beside the vehicle name represents the number of available deployments for an army vehicle.
World War - icon of the vehicle which wasn't given during the drow but can be used for SP.jpg
The star icon represents a player-owned vehicle placed in the vehicle slot but not issued to anyone during the distribution of the units in the pool. The player can still deploy the vehicle by accumulating a sufficient amount of Spawn Points.

A zero inside the brackets with no icon represents a player-owned vehicle that is part of the army but which cannot be used even in exchange for Spawn Points.
