The Vickers Wellington Mk Ic/L was a late version of the Wellington Mk. Ic bomber. Based on the combat performance of these bombers, Vickers decided to move the side turrets closer to the tail of the aircraft and cover the windows with metal sheets. Aircraft that had already been produced were retrofitted in the field. A total of 2,685 Wellington Mk Ic aircraft were produced and actively used during the early years of World War II.
The Wellington Mk Ic/L has been in the game since the start of the Open Beta Test prior to Update 1.27. Its virtually identical to the earlier Mk Ic version in all respects. It has decent survivability, allowing it to withstand numerous hits from enemy machine guns. It also has a good bomb load and the option to carry torpedoes instead of bombs. However, the bomber has several drawbacks. These include a low top speed, weak defensive armament consisting of underpowered 7.7 mm machine guns, which are vulnerable due to their position and lack of armor.
