SKR-7 was laid down at Shipyard No. 820 in Kaliningrad in January 1961 and launched from the slipway on Christmas Day of that year, making her the first vessel of the Project 35 patrol ships, initially designated PLK-7 (in Russian: ПЛК-7, противолодочный корабль, Anti-Submarine Ship 7). The class was a further development of the Project 159 patrol ships, incorporating gas turbines and some of the design characteristics of the Project 204. As the first vessel of the project, she had a somewhat unique configuration, using two D-2 gas turbines, two 47B16 diesels, and a Struya-M sonar, which were upgraded in later ships of the project. Since January 1965, she served in the Baltic Sea, receiving her final designation, SKR-7 (in Russian: СКР-7, сторожевой корабль, Patrol Ship 7), in 1966. In September 1978, she visited Copenhagen, making it the last noteworthy event of her career. Finally, she was decommissioned in 1987 and scrapped at the Glavvtorchermet facility in Baltiysk in Kaliningrad oblast.
Introduced in Update 1.89 "Imperial Navy" as a squadron vessel, the SKR-7 is infamous for being an extremely difficult vessel to play against. Her most characteristic feature are the four RBU-6000 ASW rocket launchers, which are more than capable of blowing up any destroyer in the game. This is supplemented by two twin 76 mm autocannons, which are deadly to aircraft (especially with the use of radar) and coastal vessels alike, while being frustrating to bluewater ships. She also benefits from having a hull prone to overpenetration and being a coastal vessel, which makes her invisible at longer distances. She is, however, still vulnerable to large volumes of fire, especially if it is spread across the hull length.
