Description
The Chacal-class (otherwise known as the Jaguar-class) was a class of 6 large destroyers built in the 1920s under a modernisation programme for the French Navy. Chacal translates to Jackal, which the Chacal was named after, while the 5 remaining ships were named after big cats. The other ships produced were, in order; Jaguar, Léopard, Lynx, Panthère and finally Tigre.
