Oh hi I remember you were the old wiki admin and you dropped off the map after saying you signed an NDA with Gaijin. Any chance of going back to doing those datamine tables/graphs or revealing where the data came from?--[[User:U30585107|U30585107]] ([[User talk:U30585107|talk]]) 02:28, 2 November 2019 (UTC)<br> | Oh hi I remember you were the old wiki admin and you dropped off the map after saying you signed an NDA with Gaijin. back from the gulag?
Oh hi I remember you were the old wiki admin and you dropped off the map after saying you signed an NDA with Gaijin. Any chance of going back to doing those datamine tables/graphs or revealing where the data came from?--blastedryan (talk) 02:28, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- The datamining was not done by me entirely and was more from a fruitful friendship/contact between one of the Wiki Editors and the WT Dev team who were so kind to share their data. However said Editor is no longer on team and the wiki has changed development (afaik! I am part of the WSP due to time constraints). Now the datamining, as seen with the new Spec cards, is done on server which is WAY more convenient than the old MatLab + Autoclick software (because Wikipedia does not allow for automatic library hosting AND site upgrades by default by design).
Obviously I cannot go into further details due to reasons you yourself have posted. Please watch the news War_Thunder_Wiki:News for any development.
P.S: I always liked the jet thrust charts and I'll look into restoring some, as the general performance has not changed for many of them.
No, I was never in Gulag, just quite busy with life. NDAs are quite common irl and are not the harbingers the web makes them out to be.--SupermarioPS (talk) 12:47, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah I was joking about the gulag part. I completely forgot about the other editor(it was battalioner right?). The new system for stats is definitely simpler but has a much more limited dataset (the data it supports can be found here). That's why dataminers like User:Flame2512, User:DnaGonite, and me, among others, go through the files and fill in the gaps on our side.
The jet thrust data is pretty easy to get to in the datamine. When I looked into trying to make the thrust graphs the biggest hurdles was the amount of interpolation needed between the point we're given. You'd also have to go back to Matlab to do the graphing between 3 variables.--blastedryan (talk) 14:07, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
