IS-2 No.402 is a special IS-2 heavy tank of historical significance, particularly noted for its role in the Korean War with the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. In November 1951, IS-2 No.402 participated in the Battle of Ma Liangshan, where it confronted enemy fortifications. Due to the challenging terrain of the battlefield, Chinese heavy artillery was unable to effectively engage the enemy fortifications. Consequently, the IS-2 No.402 was employed as an assault gun, successfully engaging and destroying enemy fortifications with high-explosive shells. During the battle, the IS-2 No.402 demolished six British fortifications, significantly boosting the morale of the 19th Infantry Division it supported. All crew members were awarded the second-class medal of merit.

Introduced in Update 1.95 "Northern Wind" during the Lunar New Year Sale 2020, this premium vehicle, which shares the same characteristics as the IS-2, features thick frontal armour and a large-calibre anti-tank gun. It is capable of engaging and eliminating any enemy tanks of its rank in a single shot. Players should note that when operating IS-2 No.402, it is advisable to avoid angling the tank towards opponents, as the hull side cheek armour is considerably weaker.
