The SU-122P is an experimental Soviet experimental tank destroyer that was developed in 1944. It was created as a temporary solution due to delays in finalizing the 100-mm D-10S guns. The Ural Heavy Machinery Plant (UZTM) had a stockpile of unfinished SU-100 hulls. Led by engineer L.I. Gorlitsky, the team installed a 122-mm D-25S gun in one of these hulls. After undergoing testing in the fall of 1944, it was revealed that the SU-122P was inferior to the SU-100 in terms of crew comfort, rate of fire, and ammunition capacity. For this reason, the vehicle remained a single prototype and did not enter series production.
The SU-122P was introduced in the Update 1.41. It boasts excellent firepower and good mobility; however, its armor is weak, and the compact arrangement of the crew and ammunition reduces its survivability. Nevertheless, its ability to destroy most opponents with a single shot and its small size make it effective for ambushes and second-line attacks.
