The Blagorodnyy (lit. "Noble") was a Project 56 (Kotlin-class) destroyer, which were the last gun-only destroyers built for the Soviet Navy. The Project 56 destroyers were improved, scaled down, and modified versions of the previous experimental Project 41 Neustrashimy destroyer, better suited for large scale production as they were smaller, cheaper, and easier to build in large quantities. Blagorodnyy was laid down on 5th March 1955 and commissioned on 30th June 1957. From 30th June 1957, she was part of the Black Sea Fleet where she participated in various exercises and training duties. In 1963, Blagorodnyy underwent modernization to PLO standard which meant strengthening of anti-submarine capabilities by installing four anti-submarine rocket launchers with two astern and two in front of the bridge as well as replacing the older radars for newer types. Between 1973 and 1976 when the ship was undergoing repairs, one of the torpedo launchers was removed and a deckhouse together with two twin 25 mm 2M-3 automatic cannons was installed in its place. On 21st March 1980, while performing combat duty in the Mediterranean, Blagorodnyy collided with hydrographic research vessel Memory of Mercury. Blagorodnyy was decommissioned on 25th April 1989 and sold for scrap in 1992.
Blagorodnyy was introduced in Update "Drone Age" as a GE premium. She is a modified version of the previous Neustrashimy-class destroyer, sharing the same hull design, magazine locations, as well as the air track and search radar Fut-N. The secondary 45 mm guns are split into one behind each main armament turrets and two between funnels on each side of hull, unlike two behind each main armament turrets on Neustrashimy. She is depicted in her 1978 configuration, with strengthened anti-submarine capabilities and additional anti-aircraft armaments. The Blagorodnyy's propulsion is divided into two sections with boilers and transmission paired under each funnel, so direct hit into one section does not leave the ship dead in the water.
