The BM-8-24 is a Soviet MLRS created during the Great Patriotic War. It is a futher development of the BM-8-36 combat vehicle and uses similar ammunition. These combat vehicles were mass-produced at the Kompressor and Krasnaya Presnya factories on T-40 and T-60 tank chassis. Instead of a turret, a launcher with M-8 rockets—a modified version of RS-82 aircraft rockets—was installed. The first T-60 tank-based vehicles arrived at the frontline in November 1941, and a total of 111 BM-8-24 MLRS were produced. However, by spring 1943, these vehicles had been decommissioned due to extensive wear. Nevertheless, the launchers were not retired. Several M-8-24 launchers, along with additional equipment, were removed from tank chassis and installed on trucks. This weapon was used in this form for some time.

The BM-8-24 was introduced in Update 1.53 "Firestorm". In terms of gameplay, the vehicle lacks the firepower to destroy enemy armored vehicles. Its rockets contain only 600 grams of explosives and can penetrate up to 9 mm of armor. This is only sufficient to destroy unarmored vehicles, such as early AAAs or SPGs.
