HMS Vega is a British V-class destroyer. She was laid down on December 11, 1916; launched on September 1, 1917; and commissioned on December 14, 1917. She saw service during the final stages of World War I and underwent modernization in 1939, receiving new dual-purpose 102 mm main guns. During World War II, she primarily served as an escort ship. On May 27, 1940, while escorting the Dutch submarine O13, Vega was attacked by German torpedo boats that mistakenly reported her sunk. She continued to escort Arctic convoys until the end of the war. Following Japan's surrender, the Vega was placed in reserve and scrapped on March 4, 1947.
HMS Vega was introduced in Update 2.9 "Direct Hit". It is presented in its post-modernization configuration, featuring decent anti-aircraft capabilities as for an early destroyer, high speed, and rapid-firing main guns, though their rotation speed is relatively low.
