The Eurocopter Tigre HAD-E is an attack helicopter developed as part of the European Tiger program. Spain joined the project in 2003, ordering 24 aircraft adapted to its specifications. Some production took place at the Eurocopter España factory in Albacete. The first helicopter entered service in 2013, and all 24 were operational with BHELA I by 2018. They have been used in combat missions, including Operation Barkhane in Mali. The Tigre HAD-E (Helicoptère d’Appui et Destruction España) is equipped with MTR390-E engines, enhanced armor, and modern targeting systems. Its armament includes a 30-millimeter GIAT 30 cannon, AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles, Mistral missiles, and Hydra 70 rockets. It is currently the Spanish Army's primary combat helicopter.
The Spanish Tigre HAD-E was introduced in Update 2.45 "Hornet's Sting", as a part of the German helicopter research tree. Compared to the French modification, this helicopter's main differences are its armament and maneuverability. It retains Mistral missiles for air defense and long-range tandem Hellfire II missiles with laser and inertial guidance for anti-tank roles. Hydra rockets are also available for ground attack. One drawback of the helicopter is the absence of radar, which requires extra attention to locate enemy aircraft.
