The Eurocopter Tiger is a European attack helicopter that was developed by France, Germany, and Spain. It made its first flight in 1991, and serial production began in 2003. One of the early versions developed under this program, the Tiger HAC (Hélicoptère Anti-Char), is a specialized anti-tank helicopter. It was equipped with the TRIGAT missile system to engage armored vehicles and Mistral missiles for self-defense against aerial threats. However, the HAC project was not accepted for serial production. Preference was instead given to the more versatile Tiger HAD version.
The EC-665 Tiger HAC was introduced in Update 2.45 "Hornet's Sting". Although the helicopter is slower than its competitors, one of its key features is its armor. Approximately 80% of the armor is made from composite materials based on carbon fiber and Kevlar, enabling the helicopter to sometimes withstand hits from heavy-caliber machine guns. Additionally, the Tiger HAC carries TRIGAT-LR missiles with infrared guidance that operate on a fire-and-forget principle. This allows the helicopter to quickly acquire a target, launch a missile, and retreat behind terrain cover. One of its drawbacks is the absence of a nose turret for air-to-air defense, which differentiates it from other variants.
