The S.O.4050 Vautour IIN was last variant developed for the Vautour II program, intended to procure a twin-engine multirole heavy fighter capable of close air support, high-altitude bombing and high-altitude interception. The Vautour IIN was the all-weather interceptor variant, armed with the standard set of 4 x 30 mm DEFA cannons and operated by the pilot and navigator. The early variants of this aircraft lacked access to the radar-guided Matra R511 SARH missiles and instead used MACLOS-guided AA-20 Nords, for ground support, they could also carry AS-20 and AS-30 Nords, as well as bombs and rockets in external pylons and the internal bomb bay.
It was introduced in Update "Winged Lions" as a premium pack but was removed from the Gaijin store after the 2022 "Winter sale". It was briefly made available for purchase with Golden Eagles for the 2023 "Bastille Day" mini-event as well for the 2024 "Bastille Day" mini-sale. Unlike the regular Vautour IIN Late found in the French tech tree, this variant lacks access to the Matra R511 radar-guided missiles, instead, it relies on its guns and the AA-20 Nords for air-to-air kills. At its BR, it constantly faces interceptors like the Mig-19 and F-104 that are very capable of destroying the Vautour, so it is recommended to stay low and close to the ground, and around your team, the AA-20 Nords are very difficult to guide but can be used effectively without guidance in head-on attacks, meanwhile the Vautour can also use its good amount of ground ordnance to destroy several ground targets or bases in air battles.
