The VCC-80/30 "Dardo" (also known as the "Dardo II") is one of the pre-series variants of the Dardo IFV. This modification differs from other prototypes presented in the development competition in that it features a new HITFIST turret, similar to those installed on American Bradley M3 IFVs, as well as a different gun: the Bushmaster II, which is also used on American IFVs in a different variant. During testing, the prototype performed no worse than the version with the 25-millimeter gun and even surpassed it in some aspects. However, the military decided to prioritize a cheaper, simpler, domestically produced variant. The vehicle was later disassembled, and its turret was used on another prototype of a column support vehicle with a 60 mm gun. In 2014, however, the Italian military considered an upgrade package for the IFV that would include these guns and additional weaponry, as well as ERA panels.
The VCC-80/30 was introduced in Update 2.11 "Ground Breaking". It has two fixed launchers for TOW-2, TOW-2A, and TOW-2B ATGMs; a 30-mm Bushmaster II gun with a good flat trajectory and effective ammunition; high cross-country speed; and a modern fire control system. Like many IFVs, it is vulnerable to enemy fire, and the main gun is often not enough to fight enemy tanks head-on.
