The Freccia OWS 30 is an Italian infantry fighting vehicle produced by Iveco Defense Vehicles and OTO Melara. As the latest evolution of the Freccia series, the OWS 30 trades the manned turret of the original Freccia for the remotely controlled Hitfist OWS turret with a 30 mm autocannon and a dual SPIKE launcher. The Italian Army plans to order around 300 Freccia vehicles equipped with the unmanned turret in both combat and reconnaissance variants.
Introduced in Update 2.53 “Line of Contact”, the Freccia OWS 30 serves as a slightly more survivable alternative to the existing Freccia IFV in the tech tree due to its unmanned turret. Armament-wise, the Freccia OWS 30 retains the dual SPIKE-LR II launcher on the turret but ditches the 25 mm Oerlikon KBA cannon in favour of the ubiquitous 30 mm Bushmaster 2, which has a slower rate of fire and less ammunition capacity in exchange for greater penetration. While it has thin armour, the Freccia OWS 30 can utilise its excellent mobility to quickly reposition and flank enemies at will, while serving as a support vehicle for allies.
